Drupal con portland9/10/2023 Drush is a Drupal tool that is near and dear enough to me that I’ve presented on it at Drupal Camp Alberta and COSSFEST in past years, so I like to stay current with its new features. Several of us then took in a demonstration of some of the new features in Drush 6. We need to describe what content means rather than what it looks like, since we may have a need to display it on anything from a Pebble watch to a stadium video screen. At the heart of these sessions has been the importance of not treating the web like print or allowing content creators to think of the web version of their content as the real version. Karen describes content in semantic chunks versus formatted blobs. Much like Jeff Eaton’s session the day before, this content strategy discussion was focused largely on creating structurally semantic content that is decoupled from display intent. Wednesday was day two of sessions at DrupalCon, kicking off with Karen McGrane’s keynote on future-friendly content. Fortunately, there are plenty of good sessions to enjoy while we stay indoors and dry. Now we’re learning what makes it so green. Moreover, our CEO Anatolii Pazhyn was among those who on behalf of the Ukrainian Drupal community, addressed the visitors of the event and the Driesnote viewers with a small speech about the significance of supporting Ukraine in these difficult times. For the first three days here we’ve been telling everyone what a beautiful city Portland is. He also stated clearly that he, the Drupal Association, and the Drupal community condemn the russian attack. It is also worth mentioning that this year in his annual address to the community, the founder of Drupal, Dries Buytaert, especially highlighted the importance of providing support to Ukraine as the 6th most actively contributing to the project country. We were really happy to become a part of this year’s events and believe that the results of these few days and all the amazing people that were met at DrupalCon 2022 will enrich the company with new partners and projects. Traditionally, aside from various summits and conferences, DrupalCon provides ample opportunities for networking through various related events, such as Agency Leaders Dinner, and afterparties. We always strive to give a bit more, and this time, for safety reasons we also decided to refuse any printed materials and supplement our physical representation with a digital brochure for our booth visitors. You may have already seen our green booth in the photos we posted earlier on social media. For us, it’s a great opportunity to meet potential partners and discuss in person their business needs and our capabilities, which, of course, is much more effective than the online communication we so got used to over the past two years.Īs an active community member, AnyforSoft participated in and sponsored numerous DrupalCons since 2017, and we’re really glad to be among the companies that had their stands on the DrupalCon 2022 in Portland, too. Our teammate, Joel Kepple, was present there, and we will be happy to share with you a brief overview of this year's event.ĭrupalCon annually brings together a large number of agencies, service providers, end customers, as well as, Drupal experts and enthusiasts to network, learn, and share experiences. Finally, it was open to the visit in person. One of the landmark IT-world events – DrupalCon 2022 – took place in Portland last week.
